About

This blog chronicles my adventures in cooking for one (and sometimes food adventuring in my travels). Of course, all recipes can be doubled or tripled for tasty leftovers. Unless otherwise noted, most of these recipes are my own or were inspired by another (in which case, I will give credit where credit is due).

My philosophy on food isn’t unique: keep it fresh and simple and be adventurous. There was a time when I didn’t even eat olives (the horror!) and now it’s a staple in my kitchen; or when I drove myself crazy trying out the longest, most complicated recipes (never again!). I still try out new recipes. But over time, you learn which flavours go well together; which techniques will give you the lightest gnocchi; or which tricks will do wonders for your food.

Be sure to read How to Use this Blog, so you do don’t end up cursing me your soup is an overflowing, lumpy mess :) And check out Tips for a compendium of tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years. Note, list is still in the build stage.

For more about me, read this intro.

Yay, I have been wondering what happened to ‘anonymous was a woman.’ You don’t want to be apple picking on this coast my dear, it is SNOWING today.

Yay!! Love the new website, especially the recipes. Likelihood of actually following one and ending up being edible is less than 50% but hope springs eternal. Keep those recipes coming, babe!
